After its achievements and international recognition in 2014 and 2015, from 28 to 30 September Bogota (Colombia) will host the third edition of Digital Security Forum. The event is organized by the Organization of American States (OAS), with the support of partners such as Microsoft, Symantec, Cisco and Intel. This year, they will also count with the participation of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU)
One of the greatest merits of this event is the fact that academia, government and private sector will work together to create a space for discussion of trends, challenges and opportunities, presented by a number of initiatives, in order to combat or mitigate the effects of cybercrime. Among the various sectors that will participate in the event are: international organizations, security technology providers, government agencies responsible for security strategy and cyber defense, military, control and academic bodies.
In addition to the Forum, will be held the International Symposium on Cybersecurity and Response Teams – OAS. In addition, the event will feature panels regarding business cybersecurity; digital diplomacy; cybercrime laws; ransomware; and internet of things, among others. Mr. Lucas Anjos, researcher and Deputy Director of IRIS, will represent the Institute on a panel about the initiative of Facebook’s Freebasics and its impact on network neutrality in developing countries.
