As part of the initial activities of the GNet study group in 2016, IRIS offered an introductory course on Internet Law. The course aimed at qualifying new and future members of the group, but also to work as an invite to potential researchers interested on the subject. Classes took place between March 14 and 18, at the Federal University of Minas Gerais’ Law School, and featured wide participation of the student body.

The following subjects were tackled: Internet governance (technical and legal aspects); the Brazilian Civil Rights Framework for the Internet; network neutrality; intermediary liability; copyright; privacy and data protection; Internet & jurisdiction; tax Law and the Internet; and sharing economy.
