Tenured Professor of Private International Law, International Intellectual Property Law, Internet Law and Comparative Law at the Federal University of Minas Gerais’ School of Law. Prof. Polido holds a Doctor in Law degree in International Law, University of São Paulo School of Law (USP, 2010) and LL.M. in International Intellectual Property Law (University of Turin, 2007). He was Visiting Researcher at the Max-Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law in Hamburg. Member of the Private International Law and Intellectual Property Committee, International Law Association (ILA), of the International Economic Law Society and of the American Association for International Private Law. Head of the Study Group on Internet, Innovation and Intellectual Property of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (GNET).

Founder and Scientific Advisor of the Institute for Research on Internet and Society. Law Professor at Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora. Has a Master and a Bachelor degree from the Federal University of Minas Gerais, with a scholarship from CAPES (Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education, a Foundation within the Brazilian Ministry of Education), and is currently a PhD student at the same institution. Specialist on International Law by CEDIN (Center for International Law). Assistant professor for the International Economic Relations and Law Courses at the Federal University of Minas Gerais. Lawyer and member of the ABRI (Brazilian Association for International Relations)

Associate Researcher at the Internet and Society Reference Institute (IRIS) and Co-founder of the Center for Research in Politics and Internet (CePPI-DCP / UFMG), where develops studies and projects in the area of digital governance, transparency and online participation.
